Center for Advanced Reproductive Endocrinology (CARE)
&
Laboratory for Implantation, Fertilization, and Embryology (LIFE)

Dr. Mick Abaé and the staff of C.A.R.E. and L.I.F.E. have a reputation for providing highly-personalized infertility and reproductive endocrinology services in South Florida since 1993. We treat each patient as an individual, with a treatment protocol that fits their own needs. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art reproductive health care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, in an outpatient setting designed to maximize patient comfort and convenience.

Our Philosophy

Our primary goal is to provide services to all patients, as exemplified by our broad policy of acceptance of patients into the A.R.T. program. We do not select patients based on pre-set parameters, such as age, ovarian responsiveness, or uterine factors, for example, that are known to lead to higher success rates. We are proud that we have given the chance of achieving pregnancy to patients who had failed prior attempts or were not accepted at other centers due to age or severity of their condition. We have a very low cancellation rate, such that most patients who initiate a cycle will complete it, and we limit the number of embryos that we transfer, which increases the number of good quality embryos available to freeze and utilize in subsequent cycles. In addition, by limiting the number of embryos transferred, we are able to decrease the risk of higher order pregnancies (greater than twins), and provide the best chance for a happy and healthy outcome for both mother and baby.

Our Success

Since the introduction of our blastocyst culture and transfer program last fall, we are very pleased to report a 54% ongoing pregnancy rate per treatment cycle for those patients under 40 years of age with a normal uterus who received at least one blastocyst-stage embryo. For more information on this procedure, please refer to the A.R.T. section of this web site. Overall, given our very broad criteria for inclusion of patients into our A.R.T. program, we are proud to have achieved a 41% ongoing pregnancy rate for all patients undergoing this procedure.

Special Financial Programs

We are pleased to announce the introduction of our IVF Refund Program. For those qualifying couples who elect this option, 90% of the pre-treatment payment will be refunded if a live birth does not occur following a complete treatment of IVF-ET. Alternatively, qualifying couples may select our IVF Choice Program, whereby if a live birth is not achieved following a complete treatment of IVF-ET , subsequent second and third attempts will be available at 50% savings, if performed within 9 months of commencement. These financial risk-sharing plans allow the patient to choose how to best utilize their resources, while not necessarily exhausting them, in order to achieve a live birth. For exclusions, covered services, qualifying conditions, and more details, please see the Financial Programs page of this website, or contact our office.
